About the Doctor
Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry of Atlanta is led by Dr. David Zelby, an Atlanta-based prosthodontist who has been practicing reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry for more than a quarter century.

Dr. Zelby is trained in prosthodontics and is experienced in all aspects of teeth restoration and replacement. He has crafted beautiful, natural-looking smiles for thousands of patients using his advanced knowledge of contemporary cosmetic dentistry techniques and state-of-the-art technological innovation.

Dr. Zelby listens to his patients’ needs and concerns about their teeth and involves them directly in the decision-making process. He carefully explains each option and reviews all aspects of the procedures, providing patients with the insight to make an educated decision about what procedure is right for them.

Dr. Zelby is passionate about making people happy. He understands that each patient is special, with unique needs requiring personalized attention. He doesn’t offer pre-packaged options, only individualized solutions tailored to meet his patients’ needs. All procedures are performed using state-of-the-art equipment that is designed for optimum treatment and comfort.

Dr. Zelby’s Credentials

Dr. Zelby received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1974 from the New York University College of Dentistry, where he was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society and received the Prosthetic Award. He completed a general practice residency in New York City, where he earned his endodontic training with endodontic residents. He then accepted a fellowship in fixed and removable prosthodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina/College of Dental Medicine in Charleston, S.C.

In the late 1970s, he moved to Atlanta, where he has maintained his private practice for more than 20 years. He taught at Emory University Dental Schools for more than 12 years, including six years elective to dental students in crown and bridge and six years in prosthodontics for post-doctoral students.

Dr. Zelby is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Northwest District Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the Hinnman Society.

He also serves as the chief of staff for the Ben Massell Dental Clinic, a low-cost full-service dental facility that serves more than 6,000 indigent patients each year. In the spring of 2002, the Atlanta community recognized Dr. Zelby for the volunteer hours he has devoted to the clinic.
